As president of the math club during the 2008-2009 school year, I worked towards inspiring young minds in the field of math and engineering, through various challenging activities including the IFEM Olimpiadas de Matematicas de Puerto Rico, math fairs, research competitions, and chess competitions.
Here are some of the math club's progress in backwards chronological order.
This is the logo for CROEM's math club. The owl is the school mascot and can actually be found flying within school grounds.
On May 16, 2009, I competed as part of CROEM's math club and won 4th place at the Eugene Francis XVIII Math Cup which took place at the University of Puerto Rico.
On March 5th 2009, I carried out the initiation ceremony to present the board of directors and advisor, and to initiate the new members into the CROEM’s Math Club.
On February 22,2009, CROEM’s Math Club sold stickers at CROEM's yearly town fair to raise funds for resources and activities.
I organized and held CROEM's first chess tournament which helped identify the top 2 players. The winners were taken to compete at the regional tournament.
I recruited logo designer, Mathew Ariel Morales, to envision a new logo for the math club.
The new board of directors were chosen by vote. I was voted as president of the math club for the school year.
I competed as part of CROEM's math club team in the Eugene Francis XVIII Math Cup at the University of Puerto Rico and won 4th place.
I competed as part of CROEM's math club team at the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Mathematics Cup and achieved a 1st place.
